The All-Girl Filling Station's Last Reunion

My book club read this one for our most recent meeting--and I really enjoyed it! I'm not sure what I was expecting, but this book delivered a fantastic story with humor and plenty of obscure historical details. I'd never heard of WASPs before reading it--female pilots used by the government to transport inside the US, freeing up the men for war. It follows a family from the 1920's-40's, and a parallel story set in 2005. Fannie Flagg readers will recognize the main character, Sookie, from a previous book, Welcome to the World Baby Girl.

I'm on a marathon reading binge, trying to get through the six books I am reviewing for the Historical Novel Society, and I am glad I had the chance to take a break and read this one!
